A. Organizational Summary

The Douglas County Senior Foundation has been in operation since 1994 with the sole purpose of helping seniors in the Douglas County community.  On occasion we will cooperate with other counties, but our main objective is to serve our own citizens.  We help with special projects and provide resources to equip organizations to be successful in their mission to support seniors.

B. Foundation Information

Our mission statement is “to understand the ever-changing needs of our senior community and to seek sources of funds in order to enhance the well-being of the senior citizens of Douglas County, and to work with other local resources to address immediate and emergent community needs.”

We are a voluntary organization and 100% of the funds are used for senior programs.

C. Purpose of the Grant

The purpose of the Douglas County Senior Foundation is “so that each of the individual organizations who are serving our senior adults can apply for extra help with their needed projects so they can continue to keep current with the increasing number of seniors and supply the resources needed to serve them within their entity.”
